This page gathers the free resources Consult4Kids offers to the adults who serve children. If you lead an after-school site, work with a group of kids or support a youth program in your community, everything here is yours to claim at no cost.
What is on the free shelf
Consult4Kids offers several free resources, each focused on a different part of working with children:
- the Kids’ Program Toolkit, a practical collection of material for youth program staff
- Gift of Time, on giving children focused time and attention
- Gift of Tips, short ideas you can try the same afternoon
- Gift of Wellness, on keeping program staff steady through demanding seasons
- snippets drawn from our eBooks, games and lesson plans
Which free resource to start with
If you are new, start with the Kids’ Program Toolkit. It gives the widest view of how Consult4Kids approaches youth programs. If you have a specific challenge in mind, pick the resource closest to it. Staff who are worn out might start with Gift of Wellness. Leaders whose programs feel rushed might start with Gift of Time. Busy group leaders often appreciate Gift of Tips because it asks for so little time.
Getting real use from free material
Free resources are easy to download and easy to forget. To make them count, choose one, read it within a day of claiming it and decide on a single idea to try. Share it with a colleague so someone else knows what you are working on. A week later, look back at what changed. A resource that leads to one real change is worth far more than a folder full of unread files.
For program leaders sharing with staff
Coordinators and directors are welcome to share these resources with their teams. Consider choosing one resource for the whole staff each month, discussing it briefly at a meeting and agreeing on a common habit to try. Shared resources create shared language, which makes a program more consistent for children.
Want to talk it through?
Every free resource leads back to the Kids’ Program Toolkit page, where you can also book a call with Brett. It is a good option if you lead a program and want to talk about which resources or courses fit your situation best.
Why we give these away
Consult4Kids believes children get stronger experiences when the adults and systems around them are strong. Free resources lower the barrier to that support. Whether or not you ever buy anything from us, we want the adults serving children to have useful tools in hand.
Claim what fits your work today, try one idea this week and come back for another when you are ready.
