Contribution and Leadership
Contribution and leadership involve giving youth opportunities to make meaningful choices and support others. Leadership is not limited to formal roles; it includes helping peers, sharing ideas, and taking responsibility for group success. Adults encourage contribution by inviting youth to participate in planning and decision-making. These experiences build confidence and show youth that their actions matter. Leadership development also teaches accountability and teamwork. When youth contribute, they feel valued and invested in their environment. Over time, they learn to balance personal goals with group needs. This process strengthens communication and problem-solving skills. Contribution and leadership help youth develop a sense of purpose and belonging. By creating opportunities for youth to lead in age-appropriate ways, programs nurture responsibility and civic awareness.
