Leadership grows through practice. When youth are given opportunities to lead activities, organize tasks, or support peers, they develop confidence and responsibility.

Adults can support leadership by inviting youth to take on small roles such as leading a game, assisting with materials, or helping guide a discussion.

These experiences help youth practice communication, decision-making, and teamwork.

Leadership opportunities also help youth recognize their own abilities and strengths.

Child Champions understand that leadership is not reserved for a few individuals. When all youth are given opportunities to lead, they develop skills that prepare them to contribute positively to their communities.
