June 15 – Helping Youth Build Confidence Through Participation
Build Confidence
Participation is one of the best ways for young people to build confidence. When youth actively engage in activities, they gain experience, develop skills, and begin to recognize their own abilities.
Programs can encourage participation by creating inclusive environments where every young person feels welcomed and supported. Offering a variety of activities allows youth to choose experiences that match their interests
.
Adults can help by encouraging youth who may feel hesitant to participate. Gentle invitations, positive reinforcement, and recognition of effort help youth feel comfortable becoming involved.
As youth participate more actively, they gain confidence in their abilities. They learn that their ideas, talents, and contributions are valuable.
Through participation, young people develop the confidence needed to explore new opportunities and pursue their goals.
